COVID-19 is wreaking havoc on people’s daily lives. Not only are its nasty symptoms spreading, it’s also affecting sporting events, box office releases and individual businesses.
Although there is still a huge amount of uncertainty surrounding what the UK government will decide to do over the next few weeks, you can still make sure your business development is covered for the potential of self-isolation.

Prep for remote working
The idea of working from home is less of a novelty nowadays and there are numerous tech developments ready to step in. Now is a great time to introduce a video conference tool like Skype or Zoom. Even if your team aren’t all in one place, using software like this means they will still be able to keep their meeting appointments.
Protect your tech
Phones, tablets and computers may not be able to contract coronavirus, but they are susceptible to other types of viruses. With one fifth of the UK workforce predicted to be working from home in the coming weeks, now is the time to ensure all technological devices are sufficiently protected. There is a whole host of anti-virus software available online, just make sure you choose one that covers enough devices for your firm.
Keep lines of communication open
Make sure the contact details you hold for each of your team members are up to date so you can get in touch with them quickly if needs be. You could also consider setting up a remote system like Slack or Monday that will enable you to send mass comms securely (these are useful for project management too).
Future proof your strategy
As well as ensuring you’re prepared for remote working, the current climate provides a great reason to take stock and focus on things that you have been putting off. Perhaps you still haven’t completed your marketing calendar for 2020 (don’t worry, you aren’t alone). Now you don’t have to worry about the daily commute, you’ll have more time to focus on these tasks.
