As we crunch into a chilly 2022, we’re de-icing more than just our cars by focussing on working relationships that have gone cold.
When you’re keen to re-engage with someone you used to have a good relationship with, but haven’t spoken to in over a year, how do you start up a conversation in a way that doesn’t seem awkward or forced?
Luckily, there are plenty of ways to warm up relationships before you speak again. Let’s begin with the subtle ones (more ideas to follow over the next three weeks). You could:
• ‘Like’ or ‘share’ their most recent LinkedIn post.
• Invite them to a webinar that you think they’d be interested in.
• Ask a mutual contact to pass on your best wishes.
If you aren’t quite up to de-icing without gloves, or you’ve simply got a lot on, we have a team who are happy to phone and email on your behalf (just please don’t label it ‘cold calling’ or you will get an icy stare from Neil, head of our team of lead generation experts).
“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” – John Steinbeck
