Shaping the future strategy for a global equality initiative
The need
A global management consulting firm has been running an organisation looking to achieve gender equality for expert witnesses since it was founded by two of their partners in 2022. Due to the initiative’s growth and success, there was a need for clarity around future governance, enabling the organisation to become an independently run entity.
What we did
We started by carrying out research, including an internal listening exercise, interviewing organisation members, as well as creating and sending a survey to the global steering committee to capture as much feedback as possible. This was run alongside reviewing existing activity to gain a comprehensive overview of the initiative.
To build our recommendations regarding the future operational structure of the organisation, we also spoke with our own networks and contacts across the business and charity sectors. This provided us with access to robust and real-life pros and cons for several options, which we incorporated into our final report.
In addition, we provided the organisation with a bespoke handbook to guide how the initiative is run on a day-to-day basis going forwards. This document was designed to help individuals pick up the running of the organisation quickly, easily, and consistently.
The outcome
By conducting a thorough analysis, we were able to ascertain exactly how much time and resource it needed to succeed – and which governance structure would be most effective. This gathering of information, as well as the strategic analysis, was something others in the business did not have time to do, and also required an external, objective perspective, which we were able to provide.
