Transforming the presentation skills of a future thought leader

The need

While delivering a training programme for fee earners at Stephens Scown LLP, the firm’s then Head of Renewable Energy, Sonya Bedford, volunteered herself for one-to-one training. She wanted to improve her confidence and impact when delivering presentations ahead of an important Central European summit on sustainable technology.

What we did

• Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Sonya, we designed an actionable, interactive and personalised training schedule to help her sharpen her presentation skills and boost her confidence.
• By encouraging Sonya to talk openly about her challenges, strengths and weaknesses in the session, we ensured the training was practical and immediately embedded.
• Tailored training material so it directly addressed Sonya’s need: to make an impact at the Central European summit she was speaking at.

The outcome

As a result of this training session:

• Sonya improved her presentation skills enormously, helping her build the confidence needed to transform her career into one of the country’s sustainability thought leaders, for which she was awarded an MBE.
