The need

After successfully providing an Interim Client Development Manager last year, our services were sought once again by a global law firm (comprising 1,000+ lawyers across 20 locations) to fill a critical recruitment gap in their business development and marketing team.

What we did

Due to her previous experience of working with the firm, we reassigned our Senior Manager, Caitlin Roxburgh, to the client. Caitlin delivered consistent business development support across the firm’s financial real estate and restructuring practices, providing a seamless extension to the team during an intense period of flux.

This ensured partners and other team members had a dedicated contact for all their business development needs.

Key activities included:

  • Pitching and proposals – working alongside partners to create effective pitching documents, as well as ensuring these were tracked within the CRM and followed up.
  • Directory submissions – managing eighteen submissions in total across Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and IFLR100, working closely with an external consultant to ensure deadlines were met and that key messages were included.
  • Event and sponsorship management – including Global ABS and Creditflux (having successfully managed events including Funds Congress event the previous year).
  • Database management – assisting with maintenance of the firm’s matter database across the financial services group, to ensure consistent and up-to-date information for the firm.

The outcome

The BD Consultancy provided immediate business development support, ensuring the firm was able to continue running projects and events with minimal disruption. The firm also benefited from Caitlin’s experience with other professional services organisations, meaning they had access to the latest insights and trends across the sector.
